Now you can help plant trees in Kenya for just a few clicks

2022. 12. 18.

Microsoft launched a program in which you can help plant trees in Kenya with the help of an online game. We asked Microsoft's press department how the game works:

This program is free to join and play. You don't need to sign in to your Microsoft account to participate. But to combine your points earned in Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Weather, you'll need to sign in — plus you'll earn extra points if you do. Please note: You must sign in to your Microsoft account before planting a real tree in Kenya. (If you don't have a Microsoft account, you can sign up for one for free.)

Where are the trees planted?

The trees are planted in Kenya, which is located on the east coast of Africa and is famous for its diverse wildlife and diverse forests. In recent decades, these forests have suffered widespread environmental degradation as a result of logging, charcoal burning, and illegal farming. The consequences of these human activities are increased poverty and severe drought. To combat these developments, the Kenyan government has committed to reforest 10% of its land and our partner Eden Reforestation Projects is working closely with them to achieve this goal.

How many points do you need to collect to plant a tree?
To plant a tree, you need to collect 10,000 points (energy or water, or both). Points earned on Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Weather can be combined to reach 10,000 points.

How can I get involved?
Just open MSN Weather by clicking here and you're good to go.🙂
